Your thoughts...
your feelings...
your lifestyle. . .
Are they contributing to
your kidney stones?

Years ago, you would have been laughed off the airwaves if you suggested that a person’s mental state—his feelings—had anything to do with his health problems.  Not so today!  Look up “Body Mind and Spirit” on any of the bookstore sites (like Amazon.com or Barnes and Noble) and you’ll see lots of titles.  A person may come from a martial arts background or through the New Age to find the connection between body and mind—or maybe neither.  Still, anybody’s who has been long-term sick usually finds himself asking WHY?

Of course, there are never any easy answers.  Some authors have attempted to discover common factors in people ill with certain ailments, as well as to suggest ways to use your mind to get better.  Click here for some examples.

You may be interested in some of the emotions that keep turning up with kidney stone sufferers:
"I’m mad, but I can’t say anything about it."
"That wasn’t fair! But nobody listens to me."
"The big guys never pay attention to people like me."
"I can never seem to get what I want."
"There’s no point in trying."
"You can never trust women [or men]."
"No matter what I try, I can’t seem to get ahead."
"I am so angry! But if I say anything, it'll be worse."
Maybe you’ve never said these words exactly, but then again maybe some of this sounds only too familiar.  It’s worth thinking about.  The body and the mind function together, and to get well—permanently—you eventually need to address both.  In addition to psychotherapy, certain bodywork techniques have proven effective.  One of the most powerful we’ve found is CranioSacral Therapy and related practices.  Visit www.upledger.com for information.
